Strange broadband problem
When I signed up for Sky Stream last year, I was still in contract with another broadband provider for my full fibre connection, so I didn't take out Sky Broadband at that time. Now my contract has ended, I wanted to add Sky broadband to my Stream package, with the object of getting my overall monthly costs down.
The odd thing is that if I put my address details into the Sky broadband checker, it tells me that I can't have fibre, despite the fact that I already have it, as does every other house in the road.
All other checkers from Openreach to other ISPs say that I can have it, but not Sky. I have taken this up with Sky twice and they promised to talk to the department that inputs the info for their checker, but still nothing changes.
I am running out of ideas. Clearly Sky don't want me to have their broadband 🙂

Re: Strange broadband problem
Andrews & Arnold (AAISP).
I actually have two ONTs in the house, one with AAISP and the other is spare and just needs connecting.

Re: Strange broadband problem
Openreach, I assume.
When I originally had fibre installed, I ordered it through AAISP and Openreach came and installed it.
I am trying to send you a scren grab just taken from the Openreach checker , to show that there is capacity and availability, but I keep getting upload message errors.

Re: Strange broadband problem
I think the problem is with Sky's database, because if I go to any ISP checker and the one for Openreach, they all say that fibre is available.

Re: Strange broadband problem
@Hastings5648 So sky in theory should be able to take and supply broadband, there is also no guarantee that the price single or combined may match your expectations, you will have to keep pursuing by calling to get your issues resolved.

Re: Strange broadband problem
Sky in practice could take the service on. if their systems were accurate, simple as that.

Re: Strange broadband problem
@Hastings5648Looking online search it is showing Andrews & Arnold (AAISP) as an 'Alt-Net' provider and this is maybe why your property is not being shown on the database. Does it show at all when you check on the checker for BT as the property having an ONT fitted?

Re: Strange broadband problem
Yes, it does.
As I said, if I go to Openreach's own checker, it shows that there is availabillity and also states that a multi ONT could be fitted.
It's a Sky issue. The last person I spoke to at Sky a couple of weeks ago said as much.

Re: Strange broadband problem
@Hastings5648 So fibre has been in your area for sometime and very odd that Sky does not have it on their database yet.

Re: Strange broadband problem
If I go to the Openreach checker or the checker for any other ISP, they all say that I can have it. So does the Openreach checker.
If I wanted to transfer my fibre connection to any othet ISP, I could initiate it today.
The simple fact is that Sky's database is incorrect.

Wikipedia says they use Openreach, TalkTalk Wholesale and CityFibre.
"Multiple direct connections to our Wholesale partners (eg BT Wholesale, CityFibre, and TalkTalk Business)"

BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2
