Hi i own a static caravan and only use it 6 months a year do sky do a 6 month contract

No they don't, it's a minimum 24 month term.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Essentially ISPs cannot cover their up-front cost on a subscription of that length.

 

Note that for any van or chalet to get a fixed-line broadband service it must have a unique address on the Royal Mail Postcode database, plus the permission of the site owner if it's on a commercial park-up or similar plot.
