Slowing internet
Steady speed to the hub of 73.1mb/s up until 17 november, since then been dropping, been at 14 for the last 6 days. Had an engineer booked, did something with the lines outside but no fix. Sky no help either, just looking for ideas on what else I can try?
Did all the normal troubleshooting (Rebooting, checking booster etc)

Re: Slowing internet
@Greenman18 What sky hub are you using on the connection? are you also on copper or a fibre fttc/fttp if you know! If using a sky Broadband Hub, black in colour see if you can use the link below and post your stat's up. Allow the fields to fill before you capture and post the table up as per the sample you will see on the link!
How to read your Sky Hub statistics

Re: Slowing internet
Yeah it's the black sky hub. Copper I think, certainly not fibre.

Re: Slowing internet
@Greenman18 As soon as the picture is cleared for viewing i will be able to tell from the stat's the connection type WANoE is the Fibre connection and the DSL for copper is different.
You can also have a look on the service checker linked below, Broadband and the > will expand to show you the last 30Day history that sky records once per day when they check your line operation!

Re: Slowing internet
@Greenman18 you have a partial fibre connection using a copper phone line from the cabinet. The stats shoew that the equipment had restricted the speed of the connection to 15Mb/s to help stabilise it. Your latest speed report shows a speed of 54Mb/s which should be reflected in the stats if you run those again.
This will have happened as the Digital Line Management system has been reset which is common after a repair. Initially that will set the noise margin to around 6dB over the next 7 to 10 days you may find the speed starts to return to your previous level as the DLM lowers to noise margin in steps until it starts seeing signs of instability or gets to 3dB.
Using copper lines for broadband is complex but like teaching an elephant to ride a bike is not ideal solution which is why Openreach are switching to full fibre.

Re: Slowing internet
@Greenman18 With your stat's as pictured, been up and connected steady for nearly 4 day's you can see the 15Mb/s Down sync and you were pushing at that speed all the way to the Max, but your line has a massive noise on it, when and if the Engineer visited did he say that the fault was found, he should have tested it and for sure that he should have seen it was in the toilet, with your figures and his testing, at the end off it all, he would have left you for a 10mins while off to the Green Street cabinet, forced a DLM reset on YOUR line, and after that 24hrs later your system should recover and that Service checker jump back up and your sync return to normal, now i have seen the noise go back quickly, the sync figures return and it still take the 24hrs for it to go back up....
He should have also told you leave it all alone for 10 Day's, NO off/on's or pulling the DSL cable out etc to let the line and the DLM do it's work, so NOW is the time to go check the stat's and the service checker again and see were they are at.... You have the reference to look back at with them all from this Forum page....

Re: Slowing internet
@Greenman18 Going to add this one and you have to do it exactly as this following,,,, Once you have taken the look, if your service checker bar has not done the dramatic jump back up, and your stat's have not climbed off the 15000/7200nd the 17.7 Noise.... Then switch that SR203 off, leave it off for 5 minutes after that restart the hub and about 30 mins later go take a look at it all again, best if you can pick a time say for instance 10am, that way you can see the stat's and the time period shown you have a match back too as a reference.
The final part is after a few day's it should recover, IF you are not seeing it then the Engineer needs to return and FIND out why the line is so noisy and trace the connections back, that can be a very very time consuming job as it can be connected at multiple points, but as you are way up 70Mb/s speed you are NOT that far from the Green Street cabinet to start with! Copper repair and Noise is a hard one at times to pin the sucker down and mostly it;s a poor connection or corroded joint along the way! Leave it all alone and up as much as possible, the hub and the connection is best that way!
