Slow wifi

I'm paying for 500mbps but my wifi is only getting speeds of 25-40mbps. This is a new thing, I've just come back from holiday and it's not getting above those speeds. 

when connected by an Ethernet cable it's different and is 480-500mbps but I'm at a loss as to why my wifi is so poor.  I've reset it, I've followed troubleshooting instructions but no luck. Tried speaking with Sky over the phone but got passed around to 6 different people and no resolution.
