Slow Speeds

Hi all,

Looking for some advice please as recently switched to Sky from BT / EE and never had any issues with them.

Since moving to Sky, the Max router is terrible for me especially from a speed perspective - I've no issues with the speeds over Ethernet but they are terrible over Wi-Fi e.g. my phone is getting 16 Mbps down and 51 Mbps up - no idea why the upload speed is faster? Also have a Jitter of 136ms. It's worth noting this is the room furthest away from the router, but it's all over the place. Also, my phone is showing the network as 'Weak Security' as it's connected via WPA/WPA2 (TKIP). I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max, any idea how to get it onto WPA3? My Firestick 4K picks up two seperate SSID's for my router,  WPA2/WPA3, so not sure if it's an iPhone setting that needs changed?

Is it possible to try changing the Wi-Fi channels via the app? I can't see it, I know it was previously an issue via the interface.

Social media - comments / posts & videos take forever to load with some not loading at all, even via Ethernet. Does anyone have any suggestions on this one please? I've turned off Shield and recently turned the router firewall off but to no avail. These issues are definitely specific to Sky as nothing else has changed since switching from BT / EE.

I've tried the 'usual' steps of resetting the router / disconnecting & reconnecting Wi-Fi etc. but the issue persists on multiple devices.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Jason

The settings for wireless security are set in the Sky App for the Sky Max router, and it'd be best to set it to WPA3 if all your devices support it or WPA3-T which is WPA2 (AES)/WPA3 transitional.

And throughput issue will usually be the result of AI security slowing down performance for your protection, so reenabling the firewall is recommended even if it does impact throughput on the iPhone.
