Hi! I'm just looking to get a bit of advice on my broadband speeds as Sky Support has left me a little baffled...
I've been in and out of contact with Sky over the past week to try and sort the speeds at my new address (~27Mb/s, down from ~70Mb/s) at the hub.
I was told initially that they couldn't meet the speed requirements, and offered the right to exit. However after another call I was told that it was actually an issue with Openreach and that they'd assign an engineer to look into the issue.
They've since been out today and resolved the issue (A little unexpected as Sky have said they are still confirming a date for my appointment...) and confirmed that my Hub is receiving 79Mb/s Down + 19.9Mb/s Up.
I've since checked the speed using Sky's Broadband Diagnostics and it's still showing up as ~27Mb/s Down.
Sky support again told me that the only thing they could do was send a booster, so I clarified that the issue wasn't the wireless signal in the house, but rather the slow speed at the hub. They've since said they don't know what the issue is and can't assist, but that I can call back tomorrow to cancel my contract or order a booster... And it's left me a little confused?
Anyone a little more clued up than Myself (Or the customer service staff) who might be able to assist?
All help appreciated!

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@PyroPlayzStuff as you can yourself from thecstats the hub is indeed connected st 80Mb/s down and 20Mb/s up which if tested over a fast connection likecethernet would givecspeeds around 70Mb/s down. That is the fastest service Sky can providecurrently available at your address as you do not have full, fibre available. Spees over wifi can be lower if the signal is poor.
Sky online test is very clever but has a huge fault in it only updates when it runs the test (the time that was is shown) somit doesnt pick up when lines drop or in your case when a fix happens. The hub's stats arecreal time.

I have a similar issue. I thought it was the wifi signal but now realise it is the input into the hub and the wifi is never higher than 30 Mbps even standing next to hub. The diagnositics try to blame weather or flooding but this has been going on for more than a month. Sky also says since I am out of contract, it meets the minimum speed so the only option is to upgrade. Since the speed was fine previously, I do not see why I should pay more to get back to the speeds I had previously. There are plenty of providers out there and I see no reason to stick with Sky.
