I'll get straight to the point. Everything works perfectly with the WiFi except for one thing. This would be Google related apps like Google play, YouTube. What happens is it you're downloading and updating an app it would get to around 80% and stop, buffer and cancel due to time. With YouTube, especially YouTube shorts, you would be able to load a few seconds before it buffers and then after a minute or so it would load the whole thing which doesn't make much sense because other things like games and other streaming services do not experience this. Using a VPN would eliminate this issue, Google apps update fine with it and installing VPNs work fine. This is probably something to do with VPNs not relying on Google servers. I spoke to a SKY technician yesterday and he said how it's to do with my SKY shield which can glitch and result in these problems so he disabled it for me, I restarted the router, and he said within 24 hours it should be fixed. However, 24 hours have passed, I am now approaching hour 28 and the issue still persists with all other devices like mobile phones on the network. Any solutions?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreOne thing I would suggest is a different public IP. This can be done by unplugging the router for 30mins -1hr

Hi,
I am having the exact same issue, it's only been an issue over last week or so but Youtube on all my devices stop and buffer at around 10 secs.
If I use my mobile data, the app works fine so there is something going on with the Sky Wi-Fi.
I would like to know what is causing this issue and how I can fix it. My IP address is different to what it was before and it has not helped.
Any suggestions?

It's not just WiFi. Cables don't work either. I tried lots of stuff to prove it was sky network

Yep, restarting had no effect. I let the router off for an hour and a half and same issue, based in Huddersfield.
