Sky max hub bands

I currently have sky boost and normal broadband hub. I was looking at getting sky max as you can control different devices/block them from internet I think as I have kids that don't like getting of the net. At the moment I have split the band's and my son's PC is connected to the 5Hz band as he says it's quicker and when they were not split he was getting very slow download speeds. If I was to get sky max would his speed go down as it was before I split the bands.on my current router?

I have read on other discussions that you can't split the band's on the sky max hub which is why I am asking this

You can now rename the bands on the My Sky app for Sky Max i believe
