My email/website provider has changed something and now I cant access my work email and it blocks their website too. I know it is Sky because when I disable Wifi on my phone it loads thier website on phone on 4G but blocks it on Wifi. Im on an Apple Mac and dont have McAfee or anything like that installed. Can anyone help?

Sounds like you web/email host has a spam blacklist on a serles of ip addresses that happen to include yours due to perceived spamming by another of their customers. This will filter down to your own ip address with sky. A short term and sometimes temporary solution is to force a change in your own public ip address

Hi, thanks but I dont think it is that as their website does not load unless its with 4G on my phone so it is definitely their domain that is blocked and not my IP address to them. Ive added it to the 'allowed' bit on Sky Shield, even though it wasnt on and its made no diffeence.

Additonally exceptions don't always work on Sky SHield so I would disable it outright to see if that is the issue.

Thank you I will try this. Will changing the IP affect anything else in the house like the Ring doorbell or will it affect the WiFi login?

The true fix is to contact your web and email hosting company and ask for your email to be whitelisted they may not know what you're on about but be persirtant and ask to go thru to the blacklist dept
Other than that temporarily disabling the connection will not affect anything

Its an small company, they say they dont have anything on their block list and when they set my email up at their end it works OK. Plus nothing changed at my end but they updated their servers and asked me to change the host name but it just doesnt work, the only thing to work is if I go to the webmail on 4G on my phone

By the way log onto your hub and go to the maintenance tab and sign in with
Username admin
Pass word sky or wifi password
Then at the bottom of the maintenance page click connection and disable for a 10-20 minutes before enabling the connection

To login to youe sky hub go to 192.168.0.1 in a web browser. Your username is admin & password is the default WiFi password printed on the hub.

With no dmarc policy enabled (quarantine/reject) on the own domain i don't know if that itself filters down to your own email but apparently can have a cumultive affect seperate to spam blacklisting
If they're still adamant its not them them the changing public ip address would be the only other option. Isp's themselves are only a small link the the chain of blacklisting so i doubt its not just a sky issue

This is the tool i use
Enter you own domain name and report anything similar back to us
21 Mar 2024 12:51 PM
it comes up with the same server as theirs:
No DMARC Record found
DMARC Quarantine/Reject policy not enabled
DNS Record found
I can still acess my website though, thats fine
