Sky fibre broadband - poor wifi even with booster

i changes to sky fibre a few months ago and dvices keep droping connectin. i have a bosster from te previous installarion and tis looks to beconnected , but as far as i can see there are never any devices connected to it.

The booster is upstairs and upstairs devices are still connecting to the hub which is downstairs and getting a poor signal.  My home office is downstairs and i keep dropping out of work video calls which is very frustrating  .

how can i a) get eth upstairs devices connected to the booster - as that signal MUST be better than from the hub, and b) improve wofi connection to my computer for work

@Lindat1964 The booster 100% relies on a good signal from the hub, if you have a poor signal then the booster will be poor. Unplug the booster you have upstairs, try it downstairs for you office test, rule of thumb no more than 40' foot away from the hub, any through walls, closed doors etc you need to move closer with the booster.

Re: Sky fibre broadband - poor wifi even with booster

thanks, i;ll try that , but its not that far away at all so should be ok.

on another note - it is very frustrating navigatign to the right screen that shows the connected devices. Sometime i just get eth screen tha sows number of connected deices and sometmes i get to a screen that shows them listed individually  !  is there a definitive link that should always show me the connected devices?

@Lindat1964 Are you on the sky Max with the white coloured sky hub! Just finished with the neighbour who upgraded to fibre, sky Q hub out, the Black SR203 replaced it, but she did have a SE210 booster and had to take it right next to the hub as you have to do, and WPS pair them both again. No issues doing so fine and working, just got to leave it few day's incase it requires a FW update before i check it is fully functional.

yes, i;m on the white Hub.

I have rebooted both the hub and booster and it is now showing as connected.  .. . do you know if there is a way i can see if any devices are connecte to that rather than the hub?  .

@Lindat1964 Do not know what you expect, you reset the hub and the booster, so if was always poor why would you think it would change!

Re: Sky fibre broadband - poor wifi even with booster

That wasn't supposed to be a criticism directed at you

I thught the booster was supposed to enhance wifi in hard to reach parts of the house

I brought the booster downstairs,  positioned it part way between the hub and my office.   Made sure it was reconnected  and it doesn't appear to have made any difference  whatsoever . Which is why i was hoping i'd be able to find a way of seeign whether my computer was linked to the booster or just the hub

The mobile app just tells me that my compter is linked to the hub as is the booster .. so i have no way of knowing if it is connected or not

Re: Sky fibre broadband - poor wifi even with booster

@Lindat1964 Did not take as any kind off slight in anyway just so you know, do not use a sky Max hub, would not Entertain a hub that you have to use a mobile app to control it, had enough of that with EE and there one was at best 50-50, and just a complete pain in the posterior. Not sure what you have, but netspot is very good at showing you what is latched to the hub router for that particular device, think that there is possibly a windows version also, i use Netspot on Mobile but Wi-Fi Analyzer (Paid Version) on windows.

Free for both, with restrictions so give then a go if you wish.
