Are you moving to sky from another openreach provider, is this a new connection or are you upgrading your speed?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Si99 a standard activation of a Superfast service is normally done remotely assuming you have a working Openreach line. However upgrades to Ultrafast or where Openreach want to switch the service from copper to full fibre always require an engineer's visit. The engineer maybe one of Sky's trained broadband engineers or from Openreach or one of their sub-contractors it varies.

The virgin engineer didn't come into my house this time as virgin was installed prior to my move to Vodafone and bsck to virgin....would the virgin engineer remove the open reach line from the exchange?
cheers

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIf your area has been activated for Ultrafast fibre then any new orders placed would result in you getting your service over FTTP rather than FTTC which would require an engineer to attend and run a new fibre cable into your home

Putting the address into the BT Wholesale Availability Checker should indicate which provisioning type is applicable.
https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL/AddressHome
It's the table and the two text lines below it which are most useful.
Remove any personal information (such as the address itself) if you post an image.

If you could post the first couple of lines of text below the table, that would help.

Cheers, I have a master socket as used Vodafone okay previously.
