Sky broadband and Mullvad VPN

Hi all,

I've been using Mullvad VPN for the past 6 years without issue, I was previously with BT (who were riping my eyes out, but that's a different matter). I've had issues ever since switching to sky. It sometimes connects without issue, most of the time it takes ages to connect, usually Mullvad will loop round with different IP configuations. I am a software engineer, but literally don't know much about networking, but I love to learn :). I've ruled out the following:

1) I've completely disabled Sky broadband shield

2) this only seems to be a problem on my windows 10 pc ( again, didn't have this issue with BT though on the same machine). My android devices aren't affected.

3) it works best with wireguard, rather than openvpn.

4) I've had a bit of luck disabling the network adapter and then enabling it again, but it doesn't work all the time.

Has anyone had similar issues, or know how I can diagnose where the problem is? Happy to attach logs from Mullvad if that helps?

Greatly appreciate any support or wisdom.

Re: Sky broadband and Mullvad VPN

Sorry, forgot to add I completely disabled the windows firewall and don't use a 3rd party firewall. It still didn't work and feel it's a bit overkill if it sometimes works with all firewall rules enabled.

Thanks again

@TheyCallMeRich if you have a white Sky hub read the pinned post at the head of the forum. Sky use a method of sharing IP4 addresses called MAP-T which some VPNs have issues with. I have  not seen Mullvad mentioned but it is a possibility. This does not affect the black `sky hubs.
