Sky Q minis no internet

I've been using an Asus DSL AX82U for a number of years with no problem, a couple of months ago my 2 mini boxes started dropping internet,  not a massive problem because i rarely use those services on the minis, however i reported this whilst on the phone about something else & an engineer duly arrived yesterday. He thought it must be a problem with the main box &  proceeded to change that & the 2 original minis, all brand new equipment & now all 3 say there's no internet connection. tried wireless & wired same result.  Everything else in the house Amazon & Apple etc connects fine Sky equipment not having it?

@BorisB was the Q system working when the Sky engineer left?  If it was what changes did you make , if it wasn't you need to get the engineer back.

As you use a third party router rather than a Sky hub the set up wil be different the Q minis cannot connect to third party wifi instread they connect to a 5GHz signal produced by the main Q box. This sigbal uses ch36 to 52 so your Asus router should be set to use a different range. The main box will connect tonthe Asus router using the 2.4GHz band giving an internet connection for all Q boxes.

Re: Sky Q minis no internet

It was working with a sky router not my Asus which was fine with the previous box, the main box connects to the router fine but insists i have no internet. He advised me to get a "splitter' to run both & just use the sky router for sky products, which im pretty sure is impossible to split an adsl line?

@BorisB

Do you use the Asus router in AP or router mode?

I'd imagine that was referring to using both routers (one behind the other) or possibly having an ethernet switch.

You are correct that splitting the external connection isn't possible.
