Sky Max Hub is not great

Have had the Sky Max Hub for maybe 6 months now.

It's good when it's working, but at least once a week I need to play sky engineer to get it to reconnect to my sky multi room box.

typically happens if I set my alarm to watch something like the Grand Prix this morning. Who wants to unplug and plug in everything again at 6am.

havent noticed anything fantastically different since swapping to the Sky Max Hub in terms of speed or coverage. Put it simply, the biggest difference between this hub and my old hub is reliability and the old hub won HANDS DOWN

@Hatter78 the Sky Max hub is not compatable with Sky Q so if it is a Sky Q mini you are having issues with it should be connected to your main Q box notvthe hub. If it is losing connection regularly call Sky to get a Q booster. The other change that maybe affecting your connectivity is the Q boxes no longer can act as extenders for the hub. You can get extenders to improvecwifi in hour home IF you pay fir the WiFi Max package.

Re: Sky Max Hub is not great

Hi,

my boxes were replaced by the engineer that came around when I complained the first time, so everything should be up to date. Also have a the booster.

@Hatter78 well with respect if the set up is not working you need to get Sky out again.

@Hatter78

Q Mini boxes cannot be 'up to date' because they are a design from 2015.  As @Chrisee indicates, the 2023 Max Hub does not support the 'Q mesh'.

Re: Sky Max Hub is not great

Sorry TimmyBGood, thank you for correcting me. I said I had to act the sky engineer, not that I am one.  My whole package was brought up to date last year,. My old sky Q box was changed, they tried to sell me sky glass, but I didn't want it. The two tvs I have are better than the glass.

I guess when you subscribe to a tv and broadband package then just assume the router and box are compatible and share the same 'mesh'.  Also at the money it cost for the two,  you wouldn't have to spend most of the Japanese Grand Prix being asked to turn the router or set top box on and off.

im not a techy person and you rightly put me in my place Timmy boy. Then again I wasn't a techy person with the last router and to be honest I didn't need to be, because it just worked. I apologise for crossing the meshes It won't happen again
