I'm using the My Sky app to try and setup Port Forwarding on my Max Hub (new white one) and it's an incredibly frustrating experience! My main issue is with the connected devices list that's presented to me when I select a device. As you can see below, it's duplicating some devices, some devices don't show up in the list at all, some devices in the list haven't been on the network for weeks and most of my Windows devices show up as 'Generic Brand Windows PC/Laptop'.
So, a couple of questions.....
1. Is there any way to properly refresh the list? I've rebooted the router and that's not helped.
2. Why isn't it identifying the connected devices properly? We have several laptops in the house and identifying the one to forward the ports to is impossible without seeing the hostname of the machine. It found the name of the Vespasian laptop (albeit then duplicated it - so I don't know which is the right one), but that's only one of four laptops, the others (if they are in the list) are hidden behind the 'Generic' labels!

You can see a much better list in the hub's web interface where you can rename devices and see the mac address and further detail but you cannot add the port forwarding from there.

Hi @Chrisee for the White hub's Web interface, I don't think you can rename devices but can add a comment with exact name of device. (unless I can't see how to rename) 🙂

I agree - that's my finding as well - I can add a comment to the device, but can't make any other identifying changes. Annoyingly, the connected device list in the web interface shows all the correct names of Windows machines - whereas the My Sky app just shows 'Generic Windows' for most of my machines.

One option of course, which some people do, is to add a 3rd party router such as an Asus which can then manage all the devices and allows far greater customisation options. Obviously there's an extra cost to doing that.
