Sky Max Hub Ethernet
We just got a new sky max hub and the wifi works, albeit it a worse signal than the old sky q router, but I cannot get any internet through any Ethernet cables. My devices register there is something plugged in but says unidentified network and no internet connection

Re: Sky Max Hub Ethernet
@rawhanna you do not need to configure the hub in any way to get the Ethernet ports to work. Check the cables between the hub and your device and if using an Ethernet switch make sure that is powered do not use unpowered splitters. It is possible but highly unlikely the hub's ports are faulty if so try a different port.

Re: Sky Max Hub Ethernet
@ChriseeI have tried all ports but none seem to work. I unplugged the splitter and tried directly and still nothing and all cables work on the old router so I don't understand why it's not working on the new one. Any other suggestions?

Re: Sky Max Hub Ethernet
@rawhanna never use ethernet splitters they cause major issues the only recommended way to get extra ethernet ports is using a powered Ethernet switch.
As I posted it is possible but highly unlikely your hub has bad ports but in 99 cases out of a hundred the issue is with the cable or the configuration of the network port on the device. If the device is detecting a signal but not getting data check the network configuration on the device to check it isnt a silly IPaddressing issue so set the device to get its settings from the hub as for example if you had a previous fixed IP address thst may cause a clash. Troublecshooting ethernet issues is a pain hopefully you find the cause.

Re: Sky Max Hub Ethernet
@Chrisee Thanks. IP adresses are not something I've ever played around with so all devices are set to automatic. I've tried a lot of different things I could find but none of them have worked but it could just be me as I don't really know what it all means. Do you have any other advice or good pages to look at to try identify the issue? When I'm looking at the hub settings, all LAN Ethernet link status' show as inactive no matter what is plugged in.
