Hi there,
I was just wondering does anyone have the default DNS servers IP addresses for Sky Broadband in Ireland? I'm using a third party router and would like to restore the DNS servers.
My connection is on "Eircom_VDSL". I've tried eir(com)'s IP addresses, but they don't work.

Most 3rd party routers allow you to tick "obtain automatically from isp" which detects the dns servers.
In the uk they are
Primary DNS 90.207.238.97
Secondary DNS 90.207.238.99
But i can't find anything for sky ireland

Unfortunately, when I try to get the DNS automatically, it doesn't work. I have to use Google's.

So I don't know why I didn't try this before, but I plugged in my old Sky Q router and connected it.
The DNS servers I got were:
192.111.39.121
192.111.39.212
They work on the third party router.
I think the third party router may have been using Eircom's old ones.

Find out more@Anonymous unless you need to use a service like Sky's Broadband Shield (Broadband Buddy requires a Sky hub to work AFAIK) there is no gain in using Sky's DNS and a possible downside as individual members of the large number of servers used to deliver DNS services used can become very slow..
Personally I find the Google public DNS quick and reliable.
