I installed the sky hub max 2 days ago with gigafast broadband to fix slow WiFi speeds. I couldn't get speeds faster the 92 mbps after doing the instal. Sky tech checked the line resulting in an open reach engineer attending. He tested everything, I had 980 mbps comining into the house but only 86 from the socket to the hub.
sky supply a cat 5e cable with the hub. Open reach changed that to a cat 6 and in seconds I had 910mbps going into the hub !!
posting this as a suggestion for help

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@BeanieDad the standard Sky cable is indeed Cat5e but given that standard supports 1Gb/s up to 100m that should not be the issue. Sounds like your cable had a broken core as you need 4 pairs to get gigabit speeds or it falks back to 100Mb/s.
