Signal not strong enough

We have just taken delivery of Sky Broadband but the signal is weak in some parts of our house. The salesman said he would a "repeater" or "booster" but we didn't recieve one. Also how do I connect my sky box (old style) to the hub - there is no "WPS" button on the hub?
