Shocking wifi

WiFi is unbelievably bad , I've got a mesh I think it's called and even got a separate booster but even when I'm in the room with the router it's doesn't connect . I'm not happy that the sky engierneed put the router in the cupboard in the first place and to me I'm paying for a service that I can't use .
