Setting up landline phone

We have just moved to high fibre broadband with inclusive landline service and cannot connect out bt he voice handset. Tried resetting handset and connecting via wps in router but it wouldn't link up. Don't have a cable for this phone. Does this mean we have to get another phone if so what works?

BT 'Digital Voice' handsets only function with BT Broadband: that's a choice made by BT as an ISP and hardware manufacturer.

For Sky and any other ISP you need a standard corded phone handset or DECT base station (not 'VOIP' or ethernet phones)
