Just recently renewed our Sky broadband. Stayed with the 500mb FTTP but upgraded from the existing SR203 hub to the new SR213 hub (Notice a few posts on here regarding not supposed to be offered it with Sky Q and mini boxes) We have a 2tb Q box and 2 mini boxes on our account but were still offered it by the retentions team......
Anyway my question is this on the SR203 I have had a different IP Range set since originally having it rather than the standard 192.168.x.x is this still possible on the SR213? (with the SR203 It's currently using 172.19.73.x addresses)
And secondly I also have a lot of address reservations so that everything on the network are in particular address ranges (So all media devices are numbered together, Smart plugs together, Gaming devices togetether, etc, etc.....) again is this possible on the SR213?
I know i should have looked in to this before but i've had a few family emergencies over the last few weeks so haven't had a chance to actually install the new hub and it's been sat in it's box for 2-3 weeks.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIts possible via the My Sky app but once you plug the router in it can take around 48hrs to appear in the app before you can make changes. The web interface that the SR203 had is now pretty much gone & you cant make any admin changes there.
Honestly with a setup like yours I'd just recommend a 3rd party router.

Cheers for that.
As long as I can still set address reservations as now and my own IP address range like now i'll initially just see how i go with the SR213 but my own router will be an option in the future if rerquired.

Find out more@Wavey+Davey+13 (& @jamesn123 ) reserving IP addresses on the SR213 aka Hub6 & Sky Max hub is possible but you Do usevthe web interface in this instance at 192.168.0.1 sign in with the user admin and the passwordcas the default wireless password. Navigate to connected devices select edit to choose a device and a radio button to reserve the address will appear as below
As @jamesn123 points out the Sky hubs are not really suitable for coplex configerations

Thanks...... Seems very weird they've only partially gone with the app based setup and instead gone with some settings via the app and others still via the router's web interface. I think keeping it as it was or fully transferring over would have been the better option rather than going with a half A'd option. 😉

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreCan you use the app as well for that? Could've sworn I'd seen screenshots of setting reserved IPs within the app hence why I assumed it was only via the app, not the browser.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@jamesn123 I dont believe so. There is a listing of connected devices in the app while you can rename them I cant see you can reserve the IP addresses from there.
