SKY Superfast broadband connections...

Hi, complete newbie here to fibre broadband. I've just signed up for Superfast" and had BT Openworld fit my outside connection unit.

My problem is my Router is on a different side of the house to where the new box is. BT came and installed the grey outside box while i was working, so didnt have a say in its installation position. Nor did they inform me they were coming (I work nights)!

Question can i get the outside box moved for FREE? My new service doesnt start for 10 days yet.

I'm totally against running cat 5/6 cables under carpets, around skirting/doorframes etc.

Any info would be gratefully apprecited.

Many Thanks 👍

The grey box is normally the external CSP, from there the engineer will run fibre to a point that is most suitable for you (within reason) - the 'standard' install is 10 meters of fibre from the external CSP (on the outside of the house)  to the internal ONT they will install. The engineers are 'usually' accommodating and may use a longer reel of fibre.
Our CSP is at the front door whilst the fibre runs from a that to the side of the house towards the rear using a 20 metre run of fibre.
