Router not working
Hi I’ve not internet for 3 days an engineer has confirmed I need a replacement Router but I cannot contact sky to get this actioned ..as they want to send a sky engineer to my house which will be in another week ! Can I just buy another router online ? I have sky stream .. any help would be greatly appreciated.

@Clare734 Sky will have thenir reasons for wanting to send an engineer as while an Openreach engineer blamed your hub that is often a brush off as they couldn't find tte fault so blamed the router. However.Sky have access to the hub's diagnostics so have more info to go on.
Potentially you can buy a third party router but they are not cheap and require setting up and need matching to the service you buy whether you are in the U`K or Ireland etc Potentially you might find a second hand Sky hubs advertised but be careful almost all Sky hubs remain Sky's property and shouldn't be sold. If you find one the fact they are Sky's property is the seller's problem and it should connect to your line asuming again you got the right type.
