Router dropping out overnight

Hi,

Ive read many posts about sky routers dropping out overnight which mine does.

Ive adjusted all of the eco modes on the skyQ boxes and am still finding the same issues. Normally its not an issue but I get a notification that my home security is down at the time theoretically I want it working.

Ive checked router settings and can't see any obvious settings and have copied the log. Is anyone able to shed any light or give any advice from the log report please as I don't have a clue, thanks.

Re: Router dropping out overnight

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

@Rodders78 the network is can drop overnight for a number of routine reasons which is why well engineered alarm systems should cope.

Causes include

  • DLM resets on FTTC lines to stabilise the line
  • Firmware upgrades and housekeeping on Sky hubs
  • System upgrades and maintenance

These are unavoidable and while you can go literally months without an issue overnight you can get periods with frequent interuptions. If you need 24/7 connectivity you need an alarm system with a SIM card for fall back.
