Report a fault online
My broadband is awful at the moment and has been for a week or so.
Sky stream either freezing or losing sound. And rubbish with mobile connections etc.
Possibly worse in the rain so maybe a fault on the incoming line. Openreach supply
How do I report a fault online?
Called 150 and was guided to test broadband with Sky checker which I have done and all shows up as fine, but it obviously isn't.
How do I report a fault online?
Thanks

Re: Report a fault online
@SIRFLASHARD Is this the service checker or is this the broadband test itself?

Re: Report a fault online
@Highlinder I have used both service and broadband checkers . Both say service is fine but the broadband just isn't stable enough to run Sky Stream for example

Re: Report a fault online
@SIRFLASHARD If this is not being picked up by the online checkers then you will have to call in to report the issues you are having with stream.

Re: Report a fault online
Thanks for the replies.
Any recommendations for a quality 10 metre ethernet cable. My Openreach box is right at the one end of a 17th Century cottage and I would like to get the Sky router as close to the centre of the house as possible so that the wifi can be picked up in most rooms.
Got 15 metre ethernet cable from CPC and fitted but its not great. If I site the router by the incoming Openreach I can get 140 download but at the end of my 10 metre ethernet cable that I have, it drops to 30.
Any recommendations or experience of this would be much appreciated..
Thanks
Dan

Re: Report a fault online
There should be no discernable loss of speed over any properly constructed ethernet cable up to the 100 metres limit of that signalling method.
Cat5e should be fine, Cat6 if you want to upgrade. Cat7 and Cat 8 is server-room infrastructure and entirely unnecessary in a domestic situation. The stuff to avoid is Copper Clad Aluminium (CCA) which cannot legitimately carry a Cat rating.
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2
