Im not sure if anyone has tried this before or not, i am looking to remove my Sky router and solely use my eero 6+.
I have FTTP on 500mb ultrafast, using the sky router i only get sub 100mb with an upload of 90mb through a wired connection.
My line allows for speeds upto 3gb to the property.
Sky will not send an engineer out to me as when they do a check it shows as though it is working, which it is im just not getting anywhere near the speed that im paying for.
Tech support keep trying to tell me that i wont get them speeds as wifi is different, which i know but even that is rediculous most of my devices are capable of 1gb speeds.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated 👍🏻

When the connection is around 100Mbps then it is likely you have either set the Sky Hub to fast ethernet which has a maximum speed of 100Mbps. Alternatively, you may have an ethernet cable fault between the Optical Network Terminal (ONT) and the router and then the cable will only support 100Mbps, for this, you'll need to change the ethernet cable from the ONT and Sky Hub with category 5E cable or above.
As for the EERO 6+ this equipment does not support DHCP Option 61 which is the primary method for authenticating with Sky. As an alternative you could try DHCPv6 Prefix Delegation (PD) to authenticate with Sky backend.

Thank you for the response, i didnt think that the eero could be used, but i will have a look at what you suggested.
As far as i am aware ny ethernet between the ONT & router is fine but i will definately try a new cable, same for the fast internet setting, i do recall seing this. If that is the issue then i will admit to being an idiot lol.

Thanks for the help, unfortunately has made no difference, i had it set to gigabyte ethernet allready and i tried 4 different cat 5e/6 cables all are exactly the same.
It appears sky are just limiting my connection somewhere, even with a different router i dont think it would work.
Would you happen to know a fairly decent but reasonably priced router that i could try with?

Most Asus routers support DHCP Option 61 and DHCPv6 PD and are reasonably priced.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIs it direct ethernet from the hub to your device or via a switch/powerline/booster etc?

It is currently direct ethernet from my ONT/Hub to my router, after the router it runs through a cat 5e wall socket to a powered gigabyte switch.
Ethernet direct into router still gives me sub 90mb down & 80mb up max on any devices.
There is no loss going to my switch and then to my eero6 for wifi as that still gives me the exact same speeds.

Do you have a PC or Mac with an ethernet port? If so, then you should be able to connect it directly to the ONT with DHCP Option 61 which is the DHCP client identifier in Mac and Windows language and set the field to 'anything@skydsl|anything' and it should give the PC/Mac a direct link to the internet public address.
Ensure you have the firewall enabled for the LAN port for PC/Mac which is basically the WAN port in this configuration. Then once connected test the speed to rule out a fault with Sky's end. If the speed is still low then the ONT or Sky end is faulty otherwise it is the router which is not in the circuit whilst testing in this way.
For Mac it looks like this:-

My bet is the issue is your wall sockets are not properly wired for gigabit ethernet.Builders networking skills being what they are its not an uncommon issue.
