Replacement hub connection to TP Homelink

Old hub will no longer be supported so have to have new one. Large old property with very thick walls so use TP Link to ensure coverage everywhere.    Computers, televisions, heating, alarm system all use the TP Link.  Will everything need to be reconnected?

@Lawa The answer is yes everything needs to be reconnected to the new Sky router that you have, and a lot depends on how the Tp-Link is connected and setup with reference to your original Sky Router. As you do not say what you have Sky Router wise and also Tp-Link device wise it is not so easy to advise, but for sure the quickest way is to setup your new replacement Sky router with the Exact Same SSID, your wireless name, and also change and match the password form your old to the new, it will get you connected a lot quicker device wise.

@JimM1 if the TP home link adapters are  are connected by etherner it should be plug and play. If using the Sky hub's wifi simply change the new hub's SSID and WiFi passwords to match the okd one and then again everything should connect but night need a reboot first. @JimM1 suspect they maybe powerline adapters given the comment about thick walls so trying to cover both bases.

@Chrisee Was my exact same thoughts! Strangely my powerline through a wobble yesterday, but just turned off the remote Garage module and not been used for a while now, grass cutting again, get to it later....

Thank you. I knew this was going to be complicated. I'm going to need an expert on site. . The system is 9 years old.  Is it worth considering replacing TP something newer?

@Lawa It may not be as complicated as you think and Tp-Link devices do work well mine must be about the same age as yours, just keep plodding on, the issue is the wireless connected side of it, the connection side will not be a problem may just be as easy if needed pressing the wps buttons on each device but you only do that if it does not work when you have taken care of the Router change first, take a look at what chrisee posted link wise and see how comfortable you feel about that.

Change is the worrying part when it is all going good and with no problems at present....

Thank you for all your advice. I did get a professional to do the switchover but I understood what he was doing. Reprogramming the new hub to the original hub settings and password. The Homelink recognised and joined seamlessly. Easy when you know how.
