Recommended router for FTTP 500

Hi guys, I've been reading  posts about replacing the standard router since before we got our FTTP 500 installed last week, and it's got my head spinning. I know this has probably been answered 100s of times but going through all the posts is a bit of a nightmare.

Can anyone recommend a decent WiFi 6 replacement router that's easy to set up and doesn't cost a small fortune.

Main reason for the WiFi 6 is for streaming VR from my PC to oculus quest 2. I  have a TP-LINK AX-1800 from when we had Virgin at our old house (using the Virgin hub in modem mode) and it worked great but it doesn't seem to be compatible with Sky so looking for an easy to set up replacement.  Any recommendations greatly appreciated👍🏻

Thanks

Sean

Re: Recommended router for FTTP 500

@cookiemonsteruk just a quick question mate, when I was on FTTC I tried using my TP-Link Archer AX20 plugged in to the Sky Hub with the WiFi disabled and the TP-Link in access point mode which did work but every couple of hours it would drop the Internet connection between the Sky Hub and The TP-Link router and require a restart. The TP-Link was solid as a rock connected to my virgin hub in modem mode. Any ideas what may have caused it to drop?

Re: Recommended router for FTTP 500

I have got my speed throttled easily when my router is in Access mode. Is this something commonly seen? The speed I do get with my skyhub is 200-300 Mbps, When tplink is used in AP mode to the router the speed gets reduced to just 50-70 Mbps, or maybe around 10mbps.
