Problems connecting my HP laserjet printer since new router installed

I recently upgraded to Sky Broadband Superfast. So far so good, except when it comes to my HP  Laserjet M15w which just will not connect to the new router (despite before being easiest printer in the world to set up). I've tried to use the WPS button to reconnect to the printer but it doesn't work.

I'm wondering whether the issue might have something to do with this note in the printer instructions - "only 2.4 GHz band is supported". Is that a possiblity and if so what do I do please? Thanks.

Note that this process does not apply to the new (white) Max Hub

So to split the two channels you need to go to your router config page which can be found by typing 192.168.0.1 into your web browser.

To access the page, you'll need;

username: admin

password: sky OR your WiFi password

- Select wireless from the navigation bar and scroll down a little and untick the 'Synchronise 2.4GHz and 5GHz settings'

- Scroll to the bottom of the page and hit apply.

- Once the page reloads you need to go to the 5GHz wireless settings page on the sub navigation bar below where you click wireless before

- In the 5GHz section you want to go to the box called 'Name (SSID)' and add something like 5g to the end of the current name

- Scroll down and hit apply

- Then on any wireless device you should now see two networks. One network will be the same name as usual and will be 2.4GHz band and the other will be the usual name with 5G on the end (Or whatever you typed). Connect any 5GHz capable device to the 5GHz network and see if it works correctly. The WiFi password should be the same if you havent changed it.

Yes, that's important.

Do you have a black or a white Sky Hub?

The wireless bands cannot be unsynchronized and renamed on a Max Hub.

Re: Problems connecting my HP laserjet printer since new router installed

I will have a similar problem when i buy my new HP printer. I'm just wondered if you have to chop and change with bandwith you're connected to or will it all run seamlessly. For example if i'm using the internet  will i have to switch in order to print something then switch back to use the internet or will it all work automatically and I won't even notice?

@crimson once the printer is properly connected to the network then it should be discoverable by your other devices on the network.. However having wasted more of my life than I wanted connecting network orinters nothing is cerain. HP printer software is better than it was but that is not praise.
