Problem With WiFi Calling From Mobile Phone Since Switching To Sky Broadband
Since switching to Sky Broadband I am having problems with WiFi Calling when using my mobile phone. The issue is that when the far end put me on hold and then transfer the call, when the next person at the far end answers the call, they can't hear me. There is one-way speech transmission only. I can hear them, but they can't hear me.
I am also experiencing the same issue when calling a Utility Company or a Bank for example that uses an IVR system - (i.e. an Auto Attendant - press 1 for this, press 2 for that etc). Once I get past the IVR by pressing various options, the person that eventually answers the call can't hear me, but I can hear them perfectly. Again, I have one-way speech transmission. I suspect this is because when the IVR transfers me to a live person, it puts me temporarily on hold to carry out the transfer.
Calls using WhatsApp are absolutely fine, it's only when making a normal phone call using my mobile that I experience the issue.
I am with "3 Network" and their signal coverage in my area is poor, so my phone reverts to WiFi calling for inbound and outbound calls. I have checked with 3 Network - they have confirmed that WiFi calling is enabled on my account and on my mobile phone. I have checked my phone settings and can confirm that WiFi calling is properly enabled. I have rebooted my phone, router etc etc. No change.
Next, working in IT, I have some knowledge of these types of issues, and as a result, in an attempt to resolve the issue, I have accessed the Sky Broadband router settings and have turned off "SIP ALG" and "H323 ALG" in an attempt to rectify the issue. After disabling these two options I reset the router - but I have the same problem still.
I never experienced this issue with my previous broadband provider - Talk Talk - only since I switched to Sky Broadband - I immediately experienced the issue.
