Port numbers on SR203
Hi all
just a query really.
I am monitoring the system log of my sky hub just to keep an eye on my new fibre service for a few weeks.
We have already had one drop of service due to the openreach system not renewing the WAN lease .but that resolved itself in 10 mins. Aside from that its pretty rock solid.
One thing I have noticed is that every night, Port2 seems to drop for a min , it comes back at 100MB drops and then back up at 1000MB full duplex. Each night at around the same time 01:46.
Query is that nothing is plugged into port two on the back of the box ....
Port 1 is the GB link to my TP-Link router
Port 2 is empty
Port3 is the link to the Sky Q main box
Port 4 is the WAN to Openeach
I'm wondering if the system calls Port 1 as Port 0 ...so Port 3 on the back of the box would be Port 2, and hence it is the Sky Q box which is doing something at 01:46 every night ?
Any thoughts ?

Re: Port numbers on SR203
@GuyTrem Pull the Ethernet cable out, you will see the port status change in the log, no need to re-invent the wheel. You can match previous to current port status, then note what port shows what message on the log.
Would check for you but retired the SR203 last week back into it's box. Pretty sure 0 will be the wan port to your ONT.
From some old log files this is what i see.
eth0 (Ext switch port:0) (Logical Port:8) ONT Sky marked 4
eth1 (Ext switch port: 1) (Logical Port: 9) Link UP 1000 mbps full Tp-Link Switch Sky marked 3
eth2 (Ext switch port: 2) (Logical Port: 10) Link UP 100 mbps full Tp-Link powerline Sky marked 2
eth3 (Ext switch port: 4) (Logical Port: 12) Link UP 1000 mbps full Asus Router Sky marked 1

Re: Port numbers on SR203
Correct the Sky hub calls physical Port 1 as virtual port 0 in the log. So port 3 on the rear of your router would indeed be port 2 on the log. Sky Q boxes do a complete reboot during its housekeeping routine every night around 2am so that will explain the dropping.
