Port Forwarding in the My Sky App
I want to access my Hik-vision camera system remotely. I now have the new My Sky app & White SkyMax router with 500gbps and intend to open the relevant ports using the forwarding connection. Can anyone advise as to why the ports do not open please?
- I noted someone said customers who have a package less than 750mbps, the ports do not open. If that is correct I need a different router. Thanks in anticipation.

Re: Port Forwarding in the My Sky App
@Chippy10 when testing use the camera and try to access it with the app running over a moble connection as so called port testers are unreliable as they require a response from the device being probed which a camera is unlikely to do. The port forwarding process via My Sky does work assuming you have picked up the correct device which is the main complaint and you have left sufficent time for the hub to apply the changes.

Re: Port Forwarding in the My Sky App
Thanks Chrisee,
The Hik-vision camera system works perfectly both independently & through the Hik-vision app using my Wi-fi.
The My sky app port forwarding service picks up the camera system in the list of connected devices & invites port numbers of course. Despite entering these, 80, 8000, 554 & 443 allowing the changes to take effect, actually the next day I still cannot access the camera system away from my home wifi of course on the mobile. Have you had a similar issue?

Re: Port Forwarding in the My Sky App
@Chippy10 no my cameras dont require port forwarding (most modern systems like Ring don't) however try following the steps here UPnP set up
Enabling UPnP switches off IP address sharing on the Sky Max hub which maybe part of your issue.

Re: Port Forwarding in the My Sky App
I have followed your guidence re accessing my cameras & discover I donot have a map-t setting. It seems I may have a different router as the software doesn't include it. I still cannot access the cameras remotely.
