Wifi connection is awful upstairs in my house. Work calls constantly dropping, tv buffering. No issues downstairs (and we live in a small 3 bedroom house). Ive followed the troubleshooting with the router and tested with no change. Please asise how i can fix this

Re: Poor Wifi signal
@H1010 Poor WiFi coverage is probably the most common question we get in the forum. In many homes a single Sky hub cannot provide a usable wifi signal in every room due to the layout and type of construction of the property especially in older homes even if they are small. Check the hub is in the best possible position which is out in the open on a surface above obstructions like radiators etc..
Your choice.is to either buy Sky's add-on WiFi Max bundle which can supply up to 3 extenders see https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-wifi-max or buy your own wifi system and use that instead of the Sky hub's WiFi.

Re: Poor Wifi signal
If im buying my own, are there any recommendations? Do Sky not supply signal boosters for these situations? My previous provider never really gave me any issues - regretting switching over as it stands

Sky loans wireless booster hardware 'free' under the terms of the 'WiFi Guarantee' element of the legacy 'Broadband Boost' add-on and the 'Enhanced Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee' part of the 'WiFi Max' subscription supplement: they don't otherwise provide or sell boosters except to resolve issues with Sky Q. Phoning Sky to go through a telephone diagnosis is required to have a booster or pod allocated to the account. Inevitably some Sky booster hardware has leaked onto a certain auction site and elsewhere online but Sky won't offer support with using these, and Max pods acquired that way won't work at all.
Confusingly the default 'Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee' bundled with all new Sky Broadband orders where Boost or Max is not added by the customer doesn't actually provide booster hardware, and is essentially a sales lead generator for the supplements mentioned above plus a one month broadband subscription refund.

Re: Poor Wifi signal
Sorry for the late reply, my couldn't get any signal 😕
So in essence, its a money making scheme to get me to increase my monthly spend. Looking forward to my contract ending already so I can move away.

Re: Poor Wifi signal
@H1010 Sky is in business to make money and you will find most every other ISP does the same. Buying your own kit can save money in the long term my own system cost me £100 5 years ago and has saved paying £8 per month for that

Re: Poor Wifi signal
@H1010 Is it the sky Max hub that you are using currently as the connection in your home, see the link below if you are not sure!

Re: Poor Wifi signal
You got a link to what you bought. In the business of ripping your eyes out more like it 🥴. No issues with previous providers (or with the old sky broadband router we had years ago). Call me cynical but lets give out equipment that doesn't work as well so people have to pay more.......

Re: Poor Wifi signal
@H1010 No problem, with regards to mesh and changing are you still looking to what would be best, i am a pure 100% Asus user no sky Equipment at all now as the old SR203 is back in it's box, was offered the Max but would not entertain that in anyway shape or form!

Re: Poor Wifi signal
I am. Any suggestions/ links would be appreciated. The hub sky supply is awful wifi strength wise. We're only in a small terraced house, we're not trying to get the wifi to stretch the the east wing 😂

Re: Poor Wifi signal
@H1010 Have a look at the link below, not going to be the super fastest but are adaqute for most homes, 2 units would be required with one cabled beside your Max hub. Any questions feel free to ask. Mesh is not easy no matter what but with Asus everything is not an addon to get that is why premium priced! It will give you the idea and there are some reviews you can also look at!
