Phone line down

On the night of 21st August a telegraph pole serving our house came down. I reported it to Sky on the morning of the 22nd. I have been contacting Sky on a regular basis using 150 on my mobile and every time they insist on doing a line check even though the pole is still lying where it fell. It's now a month and we seem to be no nearer any resolution, I would have hoped that openreach would have let Sky know what the expected time of fixing the pole would be but the last date that Sky had an update was 28th August. I'm getting extremely frustrated, using mobile Wi-Fi is not serving our needs as it is unreliable where we are and in particular the kids are struggling to submit online homework. Has anyone had an issue where it took ypthis long for resolution?

@peeriejohnny I have, a few years ago i moved property and before i could get connected(not with Sky but BT) a delivery driver hit the pole that served my address and damaged the pole causing it to fall, it took Openreach almost 6 months to replace it, they got bogged down with permissions from various parties(council and utility), hopefully your not going to be as unlucky.

@peeriejohnny Openreach often do take a long while tobrepair things like a pole being down. If your neighbours are also affected then encourage them to presurise their ISPs but otherwise there is little you can do until Openreach actually turn up although when they do it is unlikely to beca quick job as tge crew that install the pole probably wont reconnect the wires etc.

Re: Phone line down

Thanks, the last communication Sky have from 28th August is that approval has been granted by the council and the job is to be asigned! I thought that might have meant that things would then progress fairly quickly but obviously not.😕
