Permission to work

Hello,

I had contract with Sky for few months and it's finishing in September. I moved houses and wanted to set up the new internet in my new flat. The openreach guy came and looked around and left and now for the past 2 months I am having same message from sky ( I have attached it ). I am very sick of my all of this. I have no internet acess for months now. I want to end the contract without fees is it possible? I found another company that will set up the internet just fine as there is already acesss to the property.

What do I do?

@Rae3 these issues are likely apply to any network operator installing a new line tomthe property and as most ISPs use Openreach you would hit the same barrier. One possiblecway round it is to use mobile broadband assuming the signal is strong enough that is no longer prohibitively expensive as it once was.

Re: Permission to work

Did the openreach guy that came out speak to you and tell you anything about what was required?

Re: Permission to work

I contacted virgin and they said the lines are active and I am eligible for self insulation kit. Will I face same problem? Thanks

Re: Permission to work

@Rae3
As they have been able unable to provide you with a service due to openreach inability to progress ptw then they should be able to let you out of the contract for the broadband, if you have tv also that would be a different matter

  It's a pain when there is only the infrastructure in place for one limited provider as you have less choice

there are some other providers out there who use the virgin network so may be worth shopping around to see if there are better prices or deals with the smaller companies that use the virgin network
