So, I had my Ultrafast Internet connection for the 29th of may, Openreach added the cable over a week previous to the installation, but a couple of days before the 29th I got a message from "Openreach" changing my visit day. Which I ignore, as they had been in a few weeks before, now my Installation date has been pushed back more than a month and I am really annoyed as I have everything to start my connection, yet I can't because Sky is saying Openreach has not been able to do their work. Has anyone else encountered this? I am thinking nkinh about leaving and going somewhere else
I've recently had FTTP fitted to the property. Openreach put the line in from the telegraph pole to a new customer service unit (CSU) box on the outside of the property. I got the 2nd text to say Openreach were arriving to complete the procedure by drilling the wall and fitting the optical network terminal (ONT) box to the inside of the property. It was actually Sky who did the final installation and plugged the router in and connected the Q box as well.
It sounds like you've only had the first part done so if true you shouldn't have ignored the text.

As @Anonymous indicates, that was presumably for the external work. If you don't have an ONT (fibre modem) in place then you still need an installer trained in fusion-splicing to bring the connection inside the property.
