@David500meg the key information is missing from your screen shot which is the entry to the right of the WBC FTTP line which is the expected installation procedure and the first three lines of the notes. Underground installs are normally more complex than those from overhead poles.

@David500meg Not sure if you can get back on to remove your picture posting, it has your address on it, if you can would do so.....

Re: Openreach appointment

@David500meg Secondly the Congested Duct is 100% the issue, you may think fibre is sitting so close, but in terms it is just so far that is the holdup for you getting the fibre install.

Re: Openreach appointment

They often flag as congested duct when there is a PIA in place and they've not bothered to do a proper survey.  It probably means nothing.

If you flag the post to the moderators using the report link the mods will remove the address.

Re: Openreach appointment

Thanks for your responses,   Just back from getting some petrol, saw an Openreach engineer looking to install fibre to a neighbouring property. Basically scratching his head ( not really ) but it's similar 20 meter distance from pavement to property. No ducting in place, so he's having to cancel for today as it requires civils to dig a trench. I asked why or if they would use a mole, seams they are available but nolonger in use.... that would make it quick, less expensive and minimal disruption

Re: Openreach appointment

@David500meg Whole one side of my home housing 50+ homes, 60 years ago, NO fibre, VM stuffed the Duct OR are stuck now, and the they will not do the BORING method for sure, those waiting are up the creek without any paddles, i lucky enough good side, so up 6 months on fibre for them 0 months and counting.... Civils have arrived dug the pavement, crossed and blocked off the road, now few are considering do we really want to have them dig back a 100' to complete and mess up EVERYTHING real catch 22 situation....

Re: Openreach appointment

And yet the screenshot above says UG congested duct...so there is a duct to yours.

To put my last into a bit more context...my entire street is congested duct.  An ex-OR engineer tells me it is most like a precautionary note for the installer as it "maybe" congested but they've not really looked etc.  At least one already has it in and seemed to be no problems.

Re: Openreach appointment

I think you've hit the jackpot, no investigation has been done. So until an engineer actually visits who knows. I guess I do know my neighbours are in for a big excavation of the newly constructed tarmac drive 😞 At least I've got grass and a paved driveway so it will be easier to remove and replace

thanks for the advice so far, once I hear or see an OReach person I'll update

Re: Openreach appointment

I also see it's flagged as a 1 stage install.  That in itself implies no digging is anticipated, as that would be 2 stage., (a KCI2 install).

Re: Openreach appointment

Really helpful Openreach guy who's installing down the road, offered to come up, he took a cursory look, seams to think it will be straightforward for us 🙂

So helpful

@David500meg

Hence the 1 stage install.  Everything done on the same day . Hopefully a simple rod and rope job .  Attaching the fibre cable to a flexible carbon fibre rod and hopefully find a way through the congestion
