Hi I just got my wifi box it's the white sky box no phone
the purple cable did not come with it , am I supposed to buy it myself plus the box that the purple cable is plugged into or will that arrive at a separate date ? Will that start my internet connection ?

The Hub delivery is scheduled to be before the broadband activation date. If you are going to be getting FTTP installed on that date then the 'purple cable' isn't relevant.
If it's in the UK, putting the address into the BT Wholesale Availability Checker should indicate which broadband provisioning type is applicable.

It's the table and the two text lines below it which are most useful.
Remove any personal information (such as the address itself) if you post an image.

So if I understood that correct , I don't need the purple wire for wifi only ? And I should wait for the activation date?

When is/was your activation date?
For fttp you at least should have received an ethernet cable which sky refer to as a conversion kit

It's on the 15th so that's what I'm wondering , for the wifi to start working on the 15th do I need the purple cable ?

What speed were you told you would get ?
The purple cable is for fttc superfast up to 80Mbps
For ultrafast you should have received a gigabit ethernet cable usually with yellow plugs.
Could you check the link @TimmyBGood posted and tell us if it says WBC FTTP

Even more confusion ultrafast 1 can be delivered via g.fast which requires the purple cable or via an fibre optic ont which requires an ethernet cable.

Ultrafast 1 can be either G.fast where the purple cable would be relevant, or FTTP when it is not.

So my question is do I have to purchase them myself ?

With the white box max hub it would be ultrafast via the ont so you need at least a cat 5e ethernet cable which you can buy yourself
