No internet

Why is it that my internet can be working perfectly fine and then BOOM 1:20 in the morning no internet

to check for any known issues at your local exchange.

I've done that constantly says my connection is fine but I'll will be midway through a competition and my internet just shuts down

Openreach run maintenance from 1am - 6am, sometimes your connection/exchange may be affected by this.

You can go to this site and put the first 4 digits of your landline in to see if there is any planned maintenance or known outages

Until necessary local work is completed, yes, that's quite possible. No domestic ISP can offer a guarantee of permanent uninterrupted connectivity: that requires multiple different routes from the subscription address to the internet and a cost to match.

Maintenance usually takes please between midnight and 6/7 am to minimise disruption as most people are asleep.

No not just you and no not every night. Maintenance runs usually last around 2-3 consecutive days. After that your connection should not go down at night until the next period of scheduled maintenance.

I've had the issue now for a week straight and I suffer from insomnia, so I do experience all of these stupid outages I'm only awake now as I need to get in contact with sky but can't because won't let me call out so I'm having a very stressful day

Please do the following

1. Post your router stats https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Broadband/How-to-find-your-Sky-Broadband-router-stats/td-p/2855717/jump... 

2. Post your router support log

 

3. Post the resulting tables from https://status.zen.co.uk/ when you type in the first 4 digits of your landline number.

 

This way we can get an idea of what might be causing it.

Are you on an Apple device using Safari? If so it wont work, you'll need to use a different browser or a non Apple device.
