My internet had like a weird disconnect just now, where the internet was working but programs would not connect, after reconnecting it's put me in the UK again

@mirw - Even if they were working on their DNS servers, it shouldn't actually kill the connection speed. I was pinging 1.1.1.1 (not using DNS) and still getting over 2000ms response. There's some routing issues on their end somewhere. If they haven't fixed this soon, I'll be moving ISPs as well.

Wicklow resident . We are having similar issue since last week. Someone mentioned Sky is blaming SIRO network provider ? etc... Is it worth switching if SIRO is the network provider for all these ISP?😲🙄

@AandE siro don't handle the routing, just the cables coming into the house, this isn't a siro issue, it's a sky issue - I know people on digiweb and vodafone who aren't having the same issues

Just got a timeline of 5 days for this to be resolved from Sky customer service. They're aware of the issue. Spoke to 4 different people today and all are aware so that was promising. I also don't have to pay from 11 Sept (when I first reported the issue) up to today and another five days from now. I recommend anyone to go through the gruelling process of reporting the issue. Sky have a WhatsApp service that is actually very useful if you don't have time to sit on hold for 40 mins.

Thanks for sharing. Pity Sky couldn't just be upfront with everyone on what's happening so you wouldn't have to speak to 4 people...
Can you share the details on how to contact on Whatsapp? Unable to find any info on it online

Sure @EoinC - that may be because you're connected to your broadband and it's brininging you to the UK Sky website 😅 go here and go through the steps https://www.sky.com/help/articles/broadband-diagnostic-roi-start (make sure you're using the Irish website - check the flag at the bottom right. )

Can you share were to find the watts app for sky il be also looking for compensation for having to listen to the 3 kids every night the last 10 days 😆!! But on a serious note it's getting ridiculous now the package I have with them is not cheap and the lack clarity from sky is a joke

My slow down started early tonight, around 5.30, I rang them right away, hoping they could troubleshoot it whilst customer support was still available. All tests were okay, they said I had connection but couldn't confirm speeds and that's exactly the issue, I've always had some sort of connection all week like 1/2MB but with that speed, everything is unuseable.
The support rep was a bit more helpful, she's stressed they were aware of 2 issues, IP address switching between UK and Ireland which is apparently related to their web system upgrades called Nexus. The second issue is the slow down between 7-11 each night, she's said there was no update but it's a Wicklow widespread issue that their technical team (think she said it was named the Eleven team) is working with no updates or timeline available.
Issues are not as bad tonight in Wicklow Town, 5.30 drop never got as bad as previous days and it's all decent enough now.

I have the same problem tonight. I'm in kill, Kildare and my sky stream won't connect to the WiFi at all!
Who has the WhatsApp message for sky? Would like to also report it.

Re: WhatsApp number - it won't let me post phone numbers here! But if you go onto Sky.com (make sure you're on the Irish version and not the UK version - check the flag at the bottom right of the page) and go to the help or contact page and just follow the process through, you'll eventually get to a page with a phone number to call, a link to SMS messaging and a link to WhatsApp messaging
