Had a useful chat with an Engineer today - after broadband speed 'miraculously' returned this morning. Think I finally managed to convince him it's not a localised issue here with my broadband - there are countless others experience speed drops in the evening. He is escalting, should get an update Monday.

And it seems to be starting again now.. this is ridiculous at this point

Was just logging on to say the same. So it's 7pm on weekends. Ridiculous because I got a text from them earlier saying it had be restored. Such a joke

In Bray, same for me. Any suggestions on how this can be resolved?

Call customer support and let them know. Maybe if enough people complain then they are going to treat it as a priority and finally do something about it.

In Bray, Same as everyone here. Goes off at 7.45pm and it's back about 3 hours later. When I say goes off, I mean becomes unusable. Kids are giving me grief all evening.
It's not line attenuation - It's saturday
It's never happened before
Issue Coincided with me noticing that my IP address is in Brent in theUK - this causes problems with some websites.
Prevents sky TV from working properly
It's not the skyQ box or mini in eco mode
I'm not a happy camper.

I am down again. Happens nightly from 8pm

Happening again now for me, I called tech support - the guy refused to go off script pretty much (told me to take a picture of the back of my modem even though I told him countless times it's a broader issue than just my house, and he told me there was no outages despite me telling him it's usually 7-11) He said he's sending out an engineer in 3-5 days so hopefully at least then the engineer will listen to me about it being a broader issue
15 Sep 2024 03:07 PM
Yeah same for me. Currently on the phone to them to go through the whole process of them not listening all over again. So frustrating.

I gave them another call but like always there doesn't seem to be a problem on their end even if I specify it's not just my house but houses in the from wicklow, greystones and bray.. I guess I just have to wait for the engineer in 3-5 working days and see what he says and let him know it's a broader issue than just my house

Just off the phone myself. I have to call back tomorrow as the engineering team for broadband aren't working today which is fair enough. I noted on the call that the IP changed from Ireland to UK and now back to Ireland again. Not sure if this is the cause but it can't be a coincidence.

Sky uk apparently have reallocated ipv4 addresses to sky ireland which seems to be the root cause. Keep an eye on your ipv4 address to make sure it still a sky ireland address

@cookiemonsteruk yeah it's showing as Hackney in the UK now again. Any idea why they are doing this and how to resolve? It's clearly affecting a lot of Irish customers in this area (Wicklow).

Try going to the router settings maintenance section and go down to the bottom and click on connection status then disconnect for 45minutes then reconnect .Hopefully that will bump you onto a sky ireland ipv4 address

@cookiemonsteruk will sky fix this themselves without calls or are they even aware of the issue since customer support was no help?
