No internet in the evenings. Sky Ireland

Recently switched to Sky from Vodafone. Got fibre broadband through Siro. Internet throughout the day is perfect - speeds up to 500Mbps. As soon as it hits about 20:00 every evening until about 23:00, my internet is unusable. Ran a test this evening with a wired connection, with Wi Fi disabled on the router so my laptop was the only connection and I got 2.92Mbps downspeed and 0.23Mbps up.

Is there anything Sky can do? Is there anything I can do?

Yeah it sure is. Been happening every night for a week now. Never had any issues before

Issues in Greystones, Co. Wicklow the last few nights - drops off at about 8pm. Speed drops to 4MB on a wired connection @Sky

Exact same issue for me as well, Greytsones area. Seems fine during the day, but unusable in the evenings, see a couple of speed tests below. I am paying for 1000 Mbps and barely getting 1...

Sky should compensate. It's ridiculous that for a week now my Sky products haven't been usable in the evenings. I'm paying for 1000Mbps, Sky tv, Sky cinema, Netflix. None can be accessed at peak time.

Just spent an hour talking to their customer support, they kept telling me to get a wifi booster (even though the slowness is on the fiber connection), and then told me that this slowness is completely normal because everyone starts using the internet in the evening after they get home from work. Impossible to get them to acknowledge that the issue is on their end.

Absolutely atrocious customer service, I'll be switching to a different provider the moment my contract expires.

I had a slightly better experience where they finally raised a fault with the system for engineer analysis.

Sky advisor on here said it might be an issue with the IP address switching to a UK server at 8 pm around that time every evening and they're going to look  into it. I did notice that some websites was going onto bringing me to the UK version of the website rather than the Irish version Smith's toys for example
