I cant work out what is wrong! Every morning between 3am and 6am I loose internet access to the output from one of my ethernet ports. My sky hub has two ethernet connections which work perfectly for 21 hrs of the day and for three hours one drops out. I have one output which runs to a switch and serves two rooms of the property running Sky Q box, playstation, smart tvs and an acess point. The other (which is the problem one) runs to a POE switch in my loft which 1 ports runs the NVR for CCTV, another port runs the Hive heating hub and another runs to an access point. For three hours in the early hours I loose internet connection to CCTV, Hive and the access point, I also loose connection to the Alexa device in front part if the house which is directly below the access point. I have ventured into the loft during the downtime and nothing looks wrong with all power on and all connections appearing to be active. Looking at the rear of my sky hub there are no activity lights showing on the one but working perfectly on the other. I have swapped cables with no improvement. Solutions would be much appreciated

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@DLW67 a frequent cause of this issue where Q boxes are in use is those boxes going into deep sleep from 2.30mto 5.45am which causes their wifi hotspots to stop working switching the standby setting from the default eco to active or none stops that happening. Given the coincidence in timing I would see if thst could be a factor although I cannot see how that could affect an ethernet connection.
The Sky hub as such has no timers built-in and a fault thst switched out an ethernet port for three hours a night sounds unlikely but if switching the two cables over rules out the port if the fault does not move. if the fault moves it could be a dodgy hub the lack of indicator lights implies it might be. If the fault remains on the same line then I would suspect the switch with POE. Are you using powerline adapters by any chance as they can be unpredictable?

Sky Q hotspot not an issue as it happens when watching TV through the Sky Q and as you say its via ethernet. I ave just checked and currently everything is working yet I have no indicator lights at the rear of the route/hu for that cable. The other is flashing away nicely. There is a powerline connected to the hub but that never seems to fail. I just cannot seem to see why this is happening and I cannot find any setting on any device which is causing this. Very frustrating

I have a similar issue. WiFi stops working between 3 and 6am every morning. All my wifi devices just won't connect but the WiFi signal is there and all the sky test say no problem with broadband and wifi. Around 6am they all reconnect. Very frustrating

@DLW67 did they come back to you on a fix for this, I have Hive security and heating between 3am and 6am I have exact same issues and it's waking me up each night with the noises it makes whilst being disconnected, I have tried all the trouble shooting through Hive same issue

To be perfectly honest I gave up in the end and resigned myself to not check my CCTV or use Alexa in that part of the house at that time of the morning. I did have an issue with the router sometime later and swapped it out for a new sky hub. I must admit I can't recall if this was when the problem went away but I don't think so. I have since moved internet provider to Now TV broadband on a far better deal and have the rebadged basic sky hub router and so far it's working fine. Sorry if this isn't much help but I am convinced that it wasn't just a router fault as it was a regular timed issue /fault. It was consistent and persistent and only happened 3 hrs a day.

Yeah I am having exact same problem and getting woken up each time Hive disconnects

Hi,
I am having the same issue.
I have wifi signal and an internet connection, but any device plugged into the hub ethernet ports have no internet access. This is very annoying as I have no control over my CCTV, Hive and Yale Alarm system.
It seems to resolve itself as I only experience this between 3am - 5am.
I have tried all the ports with the same outcome.
Has anyone had any luck solving this?
Thanks
Matt

@Matty100000 hey I had same issues everything cut out in that time frame, go to your sky Q box and turn it off of eco so you will have to manually turn it off but it was that, that was causing it, mine has stopped doing it now
