All,

When there are any broadband issues between midnight and 7am it could be essential overnight maintenance taking place. It is carried out at those times to minimise disruption and there is no advance warning provided..

See this pinned post at the top of the Broadband board from Sky which could be relevant any night this happens…
https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Broadband/Important-Notice-Scheduled-Broadband-Maintenance/td-p/5151847...

If you have an ONT box displaying a red light, see this further advice…
https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Broadband-Talk/Can-t-connect-to-broadband-and-have-a-red-light-on-your-...

This link provides information about the coloured lights you may see on the various hubs

Hopefully it’s back up and running before 7am. If it’s not, try restarting your hub or post back in this thread and we can try to offer additional advice.

Same in Ilkley. Down around 3am for 30mins, came back on again and just went down again.

Re: No connection

Is there a way to check if your area is having maintenance? The Team Sky twitter account would always post the postcode but they don't anymore and service checker never tells us anything.

The service checker can be an hour behindwhat's happening locally and at your exchange (couldn't tell you why that is though), so although it is a useful tool, the lights on the ONT and router are more useful initially when there's maintenance or an issue.

Re: No connection

The ONT lights Im not tech savvy so sorry if this sounds silly. That is the open reach box right and usually has 3 lights. The power and PON lights were fully green. But LAN usually flashes. But when my internet went down it was just green. Is there a way to see if that was maintenance?

I googled it and this answer(below)came up, does this sound right?

"A solid green LAN light that is not flashing means that your device has successfully established a physical hardware connection (link) to the router or modem, but no data is actively being sent or received. Under normal operation, this light must flash rapidly to show data packets are moving. Because the physical link is healthy, the issue is almost always a software freeze, an IP address glitch, or an internet supply drop.'
