No broadband

My broadband went down this morning and the tools send us in circles but they can't connect to our router.  Router is plugged in and displaying a flashing green light which indicates atemping to connect to Internet.  Because you can't actually speak to someone but are left at the mercy of an online tool that wants to carry on trying to connect to my router its become an endless roundabout.  What are my options?
