New Fibre Installation- appalling connection
Hi, finally joined Sky Fibre on Monday 9/12/24 the new hub and fibre constantly dropping out. As an IT person running tests/monitoring today the line drops to less than original copper speeds 4mb and hub drops wifi connections regularly. From reading other posts this seems to be a feature of the white max hub. Presently sky tv stopping every 30 seconds.. Any tips or should I get out now?

@IanR007 is the ONT unit showing any red lights if you have 3 green lights that is working normally. Test the download speed by using a device connected by a gigabit Ethernet cable but it is unlikely to be the issue. The Sky Max hub should deliver the full speed you are buying over wifi in the room it is placed in assuming it is out in the open on a surface it is not yhe dog you might imagine from posts here - I have one myself. Speeds in rooms further away will inevitably drop due to attenuation. The service checker in the My Sky app can help,find issues.
You have a 31day cooling off period but rememver if Openreach have converted your line to full fibre you cant go back to the old copper service however you can move to any other isp who uses Openreach like EE, Zen etc.

Same issues. The WiFi service of the SKY Max hub hub is appalling and far worse coverage than I had in the house previously with the copper service provided by SKY. Consistently getting below 10Mbs especially through the extenderand the router is in exactly the same location as before.
