Re: Netgear orbi RBK853

One last question guys I promise so have the modem and first asus hub in hall downstairs, I have an ethernet then ran from the 2gb back of asus xt12 to the loft where there a 16 way switch, should I plug the other end of that ethernet cable (current in switch to the node (second xt12 )  in the wan? then the 2gb port on the ASUs to the switch ? Or just plug ethernet in to the switch then in to any port on the xt12 (second one )?

Re: Netgear orbi RBK853

@Magicmart  in theory either setup should work,

but I would first use a short patch lead between the 2 xt12's & confirm it's linked & the mesh is up running.

then move it to the loft,

personally I would ethernet into the wan on the node from the main xt12 > ethernet from the node  to your switch,

Depending if loft access is parkour style 😁 or not?  taking a mobile device with the asus app enabled up with you,

you can confirm all is working before you put your feet up & will stop any grief from swmbo👍

Re: Netgear orbi RBK853

@Magicmart  Now if it waz all str8 4ward, where wld the fun b in that 😁

glad it's up & running.

My advice now is to leave it alone for 48Hrs, (unless needed) save a configuration file backup,

it will then give yourself a bench mark / baseline to work from,

then tweak the settings / system, to suit.

Beer tokens for the guys all round 👍
