New broadband installed today with 4.2 router. I need to move my router across the room or alternative put it on a shelve but the ethernet cable that came with the router is very short. The engineer said i must get an WAN cable and a ethernet cable wont work from the wall socket to the router. Unless i missed something looking on line i only get ethernet cables cat 6,7 or 8. Can someone please help as i dont want to get the wrong cable and would preffer to connect my Sky Glass by cable rather than WIFI?

If your broadband is full fibre with an ONT then a cat 5e rj45 to rj45 ethernet cable will do the job

Its an Optical Network Terminal
And effectively acts as a fibre optic modem turning light signals into electric signals
