@Chrisee thanks for your thoughts on this. So are you saying that the BT wholesale database might be incorrect in predicting higher speeds?

I'm willing to take a punt on changing providers as I'm still in my Sky cooling off period. If Plusnet state a guaranteed min of 65mb and I don't get it, then presumably I'll stand a better chance of getting the line fixed. If I do get the speeds they promise then I'll be happy and will know that Sky were artificially capping by bandwidth.

I'll post back here when I've made the switch...
